Professional Roles
Founded and developed an independent womenswear fashion brand, leading the complete design and product development process from concept to market.
Key responsibilities and achievements:
- Planned and developed six womenswear collections from concept development through to final production.
- Conducted seasonal trend, customer and market research to identify commercial opportunities and inform collection direction.
- Assessed seasonal fabric availability before beginning each collection to ensure designs aligned with manufacturing possibilities.
- Designed complete womenswear collections including concept development, mood boards, garment sketches and colour stories.
- Selected fabrics and trims by considering garment function, fabric performance, climate, target customer, seasonal trends and target retail price.
- Worked directly with manufacturers and pattern makers throughout product development to communicate design requirements and resolve construction challenges.
Led garment fitting sessions, reviewing samples against original concepts and refining patterns, fabrics and construction until the desired quality and fit were achieved.
